Gitchi-Gami (Ojibweᑭᑦᒉᐁ-ᑲᒣᐁ) Great Sea, Big Water

Big Water is a songwriting residency founded by musicians, Trampled by Turtles, host, North Country Cottages, and program developer, OVERLAND ARTWORKS.

Developed out of the most sincere love affair with the North Shore, Trampled by Turtles and North Country Cottages have carved places for themselves and their creative experiences within the rocky shore line of Lake Superior. Whether exploring along the Superior Hiking Trail, skiing the slopes of the Lutsen Mountains, or staring into the expansive waters of the Great Lake, the North Shore has meditative, refreshing, and invigorating qualities that can't be ignored. The calm and comfort provided by this place and the genuine people within it has greatly shaped Trampled by Turtles' and North Country's personal and professional work and through the Big Water Songwriting Residency & OLAW's programming they hope to pass the good times on.
